A Letter from BHU B.Com 3rd Rank Holder to Aspirants

“Dream as if you have Forever. Live as if you only have Today.” – James Dean

It is said that a person should not daydream. I think daydreaming is good for a purpose. Everyone has their own journey, mine was a bit different from others. All of you might be worried about your entrance exams. You must be having a few questions running in your mind like – Will I?, Is it possible? , Do I have enough potential to reach Faculty of Commerce (FOC)? , etc. While I was preparing for this entrance I never thought of just qualifying the entrance exam, I wanted to have my name in the top rankers list. The day I decided this was the day I started working for it.

My Experience

I used to go and stand in front of the THAKUR RATAN PAL SINGH’S gate and stare it for 4 to 5 minutes. Call me crazy, but I was way eager just to call that college mine. I scored 340 out of 450 marks. The highest scorer had 343 marks at that time, i.e., only 3 marks more than my score. So, now you know the level of competition you are going to face in this UET. Take it from me, it was not easy for me to get 3rd rank in BHU-B.COM entrance exam having fracture in one leg. All of this at once was a different kind of struggle for me. If you think that you can achieve your goals by studying a night or fortnight before the exam. It is not possible.

Firstly, it is really important for you all to clear your basic concepts of class 11th & 12th. Secondly, focus on mathematics as well as the computer section for scoring high. Your calculations should be steady and accurate. Lastly, set your number of attempts as you all know about the negative marking scheme of the BHU-B.COM entrance exam. That’s what I did for gaining such marks in the UET.  BHU-B.COM entrance is conducted to take the cream from the number of students applying for just 230 seats. You must be thinking why I have not mentioned the seats of affiliated colleges. It is because everyone aspiring for the BHU-B.COM entrance exam wants his seat in the Faculty of Commerce (Main Campus) itself.

It is very important to make a schedule and stick to it. Focus on the concept and clarity. Study for at least 2-3 hours a day. Solve mock test paper, previous year question papers, and sample papers regularly with a time limit. Download it from BHU’s official sites (bhuonline.in). Make short notes to revise a few days before the exam.

Absolutely not. You should have passed your exams with 50% marks in the aggregate subjects in class 10th & 12th for eligibility criteria.

No, there are only limited seats in hostel both girls & boys. Whether you will get the hostel or not in the campus depends on two factors: Marks in BHU-B.COM entrance and distance of the college from your residence.

As a matter of fact, never reveal how much you have prepared for anything to anyone before you achieve your goal. Do healthy competition. Strictly follow your schedule. Be Regular, Study Well, Work Hard, and All the Best.
