Retail and Logistic, both are essential for the growth and success of companies across the FMCG, manufacturing  and service sector. The continuity of a business relies on the product or services reaching the customers at required hours. This depends on a methodical logistic and supply chain operation.

The B.Voc. programme marks to this need of the industries by incorporating the study of different subjects consisting of e-marketing, warehousing, logistic management, supply chains besides computer application and communication ability.

Many of the students have doubt regarding B.Voc in Retail and Logistics Management. So in this article, we are going to discuss about the B.Voc in RLM.

Bachelor of Vocation in Retail & Logistics Management is a 3  year degree program which is running the South campus of BHU. Retail management basically deals with the techniques, processes and methods that helps to drive greater sales and customer satisfaction by gaining a better understanding of the consumers of goods and services produced by a company. Retail means sale of goods and service to the consumers while Management means utilization of the resources in proper way. It is an integral part of the supply chain management. The “Retail Management” is a process of promoting sales and customer satisfaction by using the retail methods and technology”.

With time, retail sector has evolved. Shopping malls, Marts, E-Commerce websites and other multi-channel distribution systems have made retailing sector bigger, better and surely consumer friendly.

Now, heading towards Logistics management, It is a supply chain management component that is used to meet customer demands through the planning, control and implementation of the effective movement and storage of related information, goods and services from origin to destination. Logistics management helps the companies to reduce expenses and enhance customer service.

The logistics management process begins with raw material accumulation to the final stage of delivering goods to the destination.


A candidate shall be eligible for admission to B.Voc. (Retail Management & Logistics Management), if he/she has passed 10+2 or equivalent, in any stream or level 4 NSQF certificate or any other equivalent examination recognized by the University securing at least 50% marks in aggregate.


Duration of Course

Three years

The B.Voc. in Retail and Logistic management programme presents three choices to students. Each academic year is divided into two semesters. An aspirant seeking admission into the Diploma programme shall study two semesters in the first academic year. An undergraduate taking admission into advanced Diploma programme will study a total of four semesters in the first and second academic years. The student entering into the B.Voc. shall study total six semesters in the three year programme.

The University delivers the curriculum through different methods comprising whiteboards and discussions, power point presentations,  audio, video tools, e-learning, industry visits, seminars, workshop, projects and group discussions.

Procedure of Admission

  • Every year, BHU conduct its Under Graduate Entrance test (BHU-UET) for taking admission in various UG courses. Entrance form will be available on the official website ( ) in the month of Jan-Feb, every year.

  • The candidate has to fill the application form online (Sending form via mail or other mode will not be entertained.)
  • An email will be sent regarding Counseling and other details to the candidates who have applied for the course.
  • Accordingly Candidate can proceed further for Admission.

There are total number of 62 seats available for admission in DDU Kaushal Kendra, Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, BHU.

Fees Structure

University Fee: Rs.1981/- per semester +
Special Course Fee: Rs.16250/- per semester +
Assessment Fee: Rs.5000/- (One Time)

Further Studies

After completion of B.Voc. course, graduates may go for MBA, M.Voc course and other master’s course in their respective field. M.Voc course provides advanced technical knowledge related to the specific domain.

On an average, initial salary  is in between 20-40k per month. In case of government jobs, the earning depends on appointed pay scale and grade. The university also offers campus placements into recognized companies and industries.
