Varsity is planning to expand BHU Central Library’s infrastructure up to three times. For this, a new building will be constructed, for which the vacant space behind the library has been chosen. After approval on the map, a proposal for this has been prepared and submitted to the Institute of Eminence, for which approval is to be given at an amount of about twenty crores. Currently, the library has a seating capacity of 500 peoples in the Main Hall and 850 in the Cyber Library. With the construction of the new building, it is believed that the seating capacity of about one thousand students will be increased.

While BHU will have a capacity of 2350 students. Since its formation, it will probably become the largest University’s Library of India. BHU’s Central Library has about 14 lakh books and textbooks, while there are also genuine manuscripts of many ancient texts, which have been preserved quite well.

When BHU’s library was built, there were only three thousand students, whereas today there are about 32 thousand students and two thousand teachers.
