BHU Reopens: After a nine-month-long wait due to the Corona epidemic, BHU opened on Monday. The academic activities at BHU came to a halt as soon as the lockdown was announced on 23 March. But, now the opening of the campus is starting in a phased manner. In this, research students of science subjects have been allowed to come first.
SOP prepared by BHU
Final year PhD students will now be able to complete their research work in departments and laboratories. In addition, an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) has also been prepared by BHU. Core committees are being formed to implement and monitor this. These committees will continue to review the situation in view of COVID-19 pandemic. Based on their report, a decision will also be taken to open departments of other subjects.
As soon as the academic activities start in the faculty, every faculty will form a core committee. This will ensure their effective implementation including adherence to standards. Along with this, the decision to form committees at the department and hostel level will also be taken by the versity. These SOPs to comply with the rules will be based on the safety standards issued by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Education and State Governments for prevention against Covid-19.
Social distancing is mandatory
So far, an SOP constituting 10 points has been prepared by the students themselves in hostels of Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Environment and Sustainable Development, Medical Sciences, Veterinary Sciences. It mandates to follow social distancing including masks, sanitizers. At the same time, it has also been said by the students that they will not allow any outsider to enter the hostel. With this, the students have said that if they are found to be corona infected, they will immediately vacate the hostel and go to the hospital or home.
