IIT-BHU placement 2020, 396 jobs offered

IIT – BHU Placement: The highest package of this year under campus placement at IIT-BHU has been ₹ 64,26,578. In the last two days, a total of 217 students got final selection and 179 got pre-placement offer, with the minimum package being ₹ 11,50,000 for this year. A total of 1365 students took part in this interview conducted by 30 multi-national companies across the world. Simultaneously, the campus placement of the first phase was also completed and the second phase started late Wednesday.

This time in IIT-BHU, placement is being done through online mode due to outbreak of coronavirus. And despite pandemic this year, the package has increased compared to last year. Previous year, this figure was up to a maximum of Rs 58.21 lakh.

Companies participated in the placement drive

The companies that came in for the first stage interview included AppDynamics, Alphonso, Codenation, Flipkart APM, Microsoft, Jaguar, Cisco, Goldman Sash, Bajaj, Qualcomm, Applied Materials, Confluent, Texas Instruments, Mindtical, Nvidia, Oracle, JPMC, Wells Fargo, Iraj Quant,  MasterCard, Instabase, KLA Apps, Apple, Cohesity, WeMock, PhonePe, GT, Google, Sprinkler, Uber, Thoughtspot, Traceable AI, Amazon, City, Clumio, DeGraph, Dream 11, Excel, Flipkart SDE, Factal Analytics, Harness.  Companies like AI, Iraj SDE, Jaguar SDE, JPMC SDE, KLA Tencor, MTX, Optum BDA, SAP Lab, Sprinkler PA, SRIB Race, Westerton Digital etc. were involved in the selection process. While in the second phase, Sapient, Jio Platform, Atfold.ai, Service Now, Paytm, Citrix, Udaan, Sockgen, VM Ware, Agevar, InvestNet Yodley, BNY, Mintra, SRIB, KLA Walmart, Bidgilli, For Eye, Avalara, Dutch Bank,  Companies like GE GRC, Rajopre, Chhalo, Enterprise, PayPal, American Express, Siemens HealthyNearies, Roopik, Signalchip, Flipkart, Postman, SRF, Jio Manager, Delot, Oyo, Fiserv, Junglee Games, ICICI, Xteria, Boston etc.

Students of Rajputana hostel are managing  placement

Placement of IIT-BHU is managed by 18 students of Rajputana Hostel and some assistant officers of the institute itself. Under the guidance of the head of the Training and Placement Cell, these students of B.Tech. are conducting the placement process on a round-the-clock computer with great vigour. Usually, only big companies like TCS and Infosys are able to undertake such tasks, in which the crores of rupees of the institute are at stake. But to a large extent, these students are credited with successfully completing this online placement. B.Tech student Purva Jain said that they only get two to three hours for getting time to rest, and their whole time is engaged in this online placement. As per the students, arrangements from breakfast to food have been made in the hostel, at this time they have been completely cut off from the outside world and will continue like this for about ten days. During this, Amitabh Verma, who was involved in the assistant officers, said that this time despite the corona, more offers have been received in comparison to last year. He also informed that this time five students have been selected in companies like Dream-11.

Officials responsible for the placements include Grenshyam Gupta, Mohit Shrivastava, employees of the Tracking and Placement Cell, and Prashant Pandey, Yash Nanda, Ashish Chaudhary and Shobha Jyoti, leading the students.

Status of other major companies

Uber gave an attractive offer of 35 lakhs, Google 31 lakhs, while Microsoft has given the maximum selection of 26 students for jobs and 16 for internships. At the same time, eight got a job and eight got an internship opportunity in Google.
