BHU hospital, IMS building and doctors’ hostels will be rejuvenated. A project of Rs 246 crores for these was approved by BHU’s Executive Council (EC) on Tuesday (17-11-2020). The seven-hour meeting of the council at the vice-chancellor’s residence confirmed the decisions of the council. The proposals include setting up of Vaccine Research Center, one-year diploma course in Vedic Science Center and new courses in the Physical Education Department.

The envelopes of appointments did not open due to the MLC Election Code of Conduct. Only policy and infrastructure decisions were taken. VC Prof. In a meeting chaired by vice-chancellor prof. Rakesh Bhatnagar, the recommendations of the committee in relation to two professors were discussed for about an hour. These include the case of renting the accommodation of a female professor to an NGO. The committee submitted its report to the council regarding the appointment of a professor in the orthopaedic department. In the meeting, Prof. Anand Mohan, Prof. Bachha Singh, Prof. AK Singh, Prof. Adya Prasad Pandey, Prof. Ram Naresh Mishra, Prof. AK Mukherjee were present.
Plan for the Vaccine Research Center
Describing the proposal of the Vaccine Research Center as important, the Vice-Chancellor prof. Rakesh Bhatnagar directed to prepare a concrete action plan. He said that research on the vaccine needs to be promoted so that it can be better used in times of epidemics.
Maithili centre will be established
Now Maithili language will also be studied in BHU. The Executive Council has approved the establishment of Maithili Center. The Council considered the establishment of Maithili Center important in the development of Indian languages.
