What is Paid Seat in BHU? Get Full Details

Hey!!!! wonderful people…. In this article, we are going to tell you about the most asked query regarding admission criteria and everything about the paid seat in BHU and its admission procedure. So, let’s get started.

Let’s come to the definition of paid seat

The paid seats under the BHU is defined as – when the students who are willing to take the admission in a particular course in Banaras Hindu University but unable to secure admission on the basis of their rank then he opted out to pay the extra fee which is called the Paid seat system. Paid seats are available upto 5–10 seats in which the students have to pay the regular fee and apart from that they have to pay an extra fee according to the course. Around 10 seats in all courses are reserved as paid seats i.e, seats with high fees. For example- (40k per sem + course fee +hostel fees).

If you have a good rank but missing the campus seat with a very less difference of index. So in my opinion you should definitely fill the paid seat form.

Procedure of getting admission in paid seat

During the counselling procedure, you can ask for paid seat form from the faculty members or simply you can go for an online form. (depending on the mode of counselling you are opting). Paid seat is both available for main campus and affiliated colleges.

Fill up the form and submit that to the concerned personnel. Depending upon the number of available seats and your index rank, you can calculate the chances of getting admission on the paid seats in the concerned faculties and courses. Suppose the cut off for admission is 280 and your marks in the range of 270-279 you can secure your admission to the campus.

Main fact- You can’t claim your admission on the basis of reservation criteria in terms of the paid seats. Admission solely depends upon the index, rank and available seats.

After submitting the form, just wait for the result day to declare the final verdict. Your portal will tell you everything. It will get updated once you have submitted the form. Portal will be get updated by your seat nature ( regular or paid), campus ( main or affiliated) and required fees.

Fees structure of paid seats

Fees is taken on a yearly basis apart from your regular fees. Suppose your course fee is Rs. 2000 and your paid seat fee is Rs. 25000, so your total fees for the course curriculum is Rs. (2000+25000) and fees for next semester will be as same as a regular seat. Rs. 25000 is only a one time a year payment.

In the next year, you are again required to pay an additional 25000 as your fees apart from regular college or campus fees.

Paid seat fees vary between 10000- 40000 depending upon the nature of the course and concerned college. You can just simply took a glimpse of the notice board regarding the fee structure for further reference.

Conclusion

For the paid seats, you have to apply separately at the time of counselling and you have to attend the counselling and fill your choice of combination. If your name will appear in the list of those 10%  students, there is a certain additional fee, you have to deposit in order to study at BHU with the course of your preference and college of your choice. The additional amount is every year revised. Visit the BHU website, your portal or central office, Banaras Hindu University for more information. ALL the very BEST.
