Banaras Hindu University is planning to start an AI-based course of Postgraduate level. Due to the higher demand of Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity, the course will be started. The New Education Policy (NEP) also emphasizes on the promotion of technology-based education and skill development. This decision of the BHU’s administration is also being seen in this direction.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Rakesh Bhatnagar has constituted a committee on practical aspects of starting this course and other points including research and suggestions have also been sought from members. On October 7, the first meeting headed by Executive Council member Professor Anand Mohan was attended by Professor AK Agarwal, Professor SK Singh, Dr. Anil Pandey, Professor AK Subaiah etc. in which it was decided that the proposed PG course in the field of Artificial Intelligence will provide trained professionals to the country and prepare the participants according to the need, which will prove useful not only for the society but also for the country. The proposed course will be the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MSc-AI) course and will be the first of its kind that will be offered by the university.

BHU said, “The course in the field of Artificial Intelligence will provide trained technical manpower to the country and will be a huge asset in the field of virtual world which will be useful not only for the society but also for the country”.
The university said that Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence will be the first of its kind which will be offered by the Banaras Hindu University.
